A legacy of Innovation
EDKO is a vegetation management company built on one simple idea: when unwanted vegetation becomes a problem, there should be a smarter solution. Founded in 1961 by Max Edwards in Bossier City, Louisiana, EDKO helped shape modern herbicide application by innovating tools and techniques that are still used today. Max believed that customers should define the solution—not the other way around—and that philosophy remains at the heart of our company.
Today, EDKO delivers customized, cost-effective vegetation management services across a wide range of environments spanning 25+ states through 14 branch locations. From how we operate to how we bill, our approach is shaped by the needs of our clients—utilities, municipalities, oil and gas companies, pipelines, and government agencies. That dedication to service is why many of our partnerships span decades and why we continue to be trusted to handle complex vegetation challenges with precision and care.
In 2021, EDKO was acquired by Incline Equity Partners, a Pittsburgh-based private equity firm that invests in growing manufacturing, distribution, and business services companies. This partnership has positioned EDKO for continued growth while preserving the customer-focused values and technical expertise that have defined the company for over six decades.
