Utility Arborist

Edko, LLC is seeking utility vegetation management professionals, and/or candidates with a 2 or 4 year degree in forestry or a related field. Personnel are expected to perform inspections, and evaluations of line clearance work and vegetation along utility lines. Utility Arborists will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of tree clearance crews, interface with and negotiate line-clearance crew access and practices with utility customers, as well as, conducting other various special projects.

• The ability to work independently with excellent communication skills.
• An AA or BA Degree in forestry, arboriculture or a related field; or utility vegetation management experience.
• Utility Arborist certification or ability to become certified within 1-year is preferred.
• Local tree knowledge beneficial
• Ability to work in inclement weather
• Ability to interpret and follow maps
• Ability to use a laptop computer, GPS, and GIS
• Valid Driver License required

• Inspect and evaluate vegetation conditions along electric utility lines to ensure proper clearance and compliance with utility standards.
• Review completed and in-progress line-clearance work for quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily activities of vegetation management and tree-clearance crews. Serve as a liaison between utility clients, property owners, and field crews to coordinate access and address concerns.
• Communicate work plans, schedules, and clearance requirements to all stakeholders.
• Document inspections, findings, and work progress through accurate reports and field records.
• Support regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance across all vegetation management activities.
• Assist with special projects related to utility vegetation management and system reliability.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices in the field.
